Senior Network and Security Engineer – Expression of Interest

The Network & Security Architect holds accountability for crafting comprehensive solution architectures and designs to deliver industry-leading services and support to mcrIT’s customer base. This role entails acting as a technology specialist across multiple concurrent opportunities, overseeing the technical design, costs, and scope of projects. Additionally, the position encompasses presales architecture functions, ensuring alignment with client needs and objectives.

The role requires an excellent understanding of network topologies, cloud technologies, server platforms, and applications. They are responsible for working with vendors to generate accurate solution documentation, with associated Bill of Materials (BOM) and professional services and ongoing support scope and effort costs. The role must consider operational aspects of the solution (such as monitoring and management tools) and seamlessly transitioning projects to delivery teams. This role represents a senior engineering position within mcrIT’s Client Services team, requiring independent judgment and the ability to operate with limited supervision. This role may also have responsibility for directing staff within technical projects.

The candidate will have:

– Industry-based technical qualification (degree preferred) in Networking or Telecommunications Engineering,

– Demonstrable expertise in Networking and Security with a focus on Fortinet solutions,

– Vendor certifications / qualifications preferred in Fortinet

– Other relevant experience such as Cisco, Juniper, and Checkpoint are highly desirable,

– Solid understanding of network protocols,

– Solid ITIL understanding with a focus on proper change management.

Work includes design, Change record and operational handover document creation.

Work involves both business hours and after-hours deployments and migrations.
