Your Role

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll be a key point of contact for the People & Culture team and hiring leaders, providing end-to-end recruitment support, expert advice, and a strong focus on candidate and stakeholder experience across a complex, fast-paced project environment.

You’ll:

• Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising, shortlisting, interview coordination, reference checks, pre-employment screening, and onboarding support

• Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and deliver tailored, strategic recruitment solutions

• Develop and maintain internal and external talent pools, proactive sourcing channels, and relationships with recruitment agencies

• Draft and publish job advertisements across internal and external platforms

• Support onboarding activities, including contract generation and system administration

• Ensure recruitment activities comply with employment legislation, organisational policies, and governance requirements

• Contribute to employer branding, candidate experience initiatives, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes

• Produce accurate and timely recruitment reporting and analytics to support workforce planning and evidence-based decision making

• Coordinate work experience and graduate programs and build relationships with tertiary institutions

• Work closely with external recruitment firms and manage agency relationships as required

You’ll Need

• A qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline

• Previous experience in talent acquisition, ideally within a large, complex or project-based environment

• Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, sourcing strategies, and employment legislation

• Experience sourcing hard-to-fill and highly specialised technical roles in competitive labour markets

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

• A demonstrated focus on delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience

• Experience working with applicant tracking systems or HRIS

• Well-developed Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• A collaborative, proactive, and customer-focused mindset

• High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail

Experience in utilities or large infrastructure projects will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Company Overview

Marinus Link is the bridge to a smarter, greener and more connected future. This state-of-the-art infrastructure project will strengthen Australia’s national electricity grid, unlock thousands of jobs and promote renewable energy investment. The two-way energy highway will enable Tasmania and Victoria to share much more electricity, pairing Victoria’s wind and solar with Tasmania’s flexible hydropower system and geographically diverse wind. This is a powerful synergy that strengthens the grid for both states. Marinus Link’s fibre optic cables will improve digital connectivity between Tasmania and Victoria by 150 times. After years of planning and design, construction is on the horizon. Marinus Link is jointly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia, the State of Tasmania and the State of Victoria.
