Your Role

As a Senior Contract Administrator, you’ll be a key point of contact for the Project Commercial & Cost function, providing expert contract administration and commercial support across the Balance of Works (BoW) contract.

You’ll:

  • Lead end-to-end contract administration activities for the BoW contract
  • Review and verify monthly payment claims, reimbursable costs, and supporting evidence
  • Assess contractor variations, notices, and prepare contract-aligned responses
  • Maintain accurate commercial records, audit trails, and cost forecasts (including InEight inputs)
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, delegations frameworks, and governance standards
  • Monitor contractor early warnings, risk registers, and escalate impacts as required
  • Collaborate closely with Project Controls and Contract Management to ensure alignment between commercial records and project forecasts
  • Support commercial risk mitigation, audits, and reporting

You’ll Need

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Law, Construction Management, or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience supporting commercial management and governance for major infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles within regulated environments
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and editing
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in dynamic environments
  • Strong decision-making skills and sound judgement under ambiguity
  • High levels of confidentiality, integrity, and probity

Desirable:

  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to large infrastructure or energy projects
  • A high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn organisational systems such as InEight.

Marinus Link is the bridge to a smarter, greener and more connected future. This state-of-the-art infrastructure project will strengthen Australia’s national electricity grid, unlock thousands of jobs and promote renewable energy investment. The two-way energy highway will enable Tasmania and Victoria to share much more electricity, pairing Victoria’s wind and solar with Tasmania’s flexible hydropower system and geographically diverse wind. This is a powerful synergy that strengthens the grid for both states. Marinus Link’s fibre optic cables will improve digital connectivity between Tasmania and Victoria by 150 times. After years of planning and design, construction is on the horizon. Marinus Link is jointly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia, the State of Tasmania and the State of Victoria.
