MapOut, a dynamic ed-tech startup, is looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to join our growing team. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the user journey for our innovative learning platform. Experience with Digital Marketing, and/or Animation & Illustration will be a huge plus!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research to understand learner needs and preferences.
- Design user-centered interfaces (UI) that are clear, engaging, and accessible across various platforms (web, mobile).
- Incorporate animation and illustration where appropriate to enhance the user experience.
- Develop user flows and wireframes to map out user journeys.
- Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes for usability testing and refinement.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and content creators to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Stay up-to-date on design trends and best practices in the education technology space.
- Leverage your marketing skills to contribute to the visual identity and brand messaging of MapOut.
- Effectively communicate design ideas and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adapt and thrive in the fast-paced, agile environment of a growing startup.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proven ability to conduct user research and translate insights into actionable design solutions.
- In-depth understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- A keen eye for content placement, information architecture, and visual hierarchy.
- A marketing-oriented mindset with a passion for creating visually appealing and user-friendly experiences.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus points for:
Experience in designing for educational platforms or mobile applications.
Understanding of accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS).
Experience with user testing and data analysis.
