Project Delivery Managers

Workforce Planning • Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia • Full-time

Description

Your new organisation

The Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance (Manufacturing Alliance) is an industry-owned, industry-led not-for-profit organisation addressing skills and workforce issues for the manufacturing sector.

A growing organisation, we are at the forefront of supporting the development of skilled workforces that enable modern manufacturing and associated industries to succeed. We work with manufacturing stakeholders across Australia, including employers, unions, trainers, learners and governments to build a skilled workforce for now and for the future.

About the Role

This Project Delivery Manager role works with a highly consultative, multidisciplinary team managing a range of workforce development projects. This is not a traditional “delivery-only” project management position. Instead, it requires a focused, pragmatic approach to delivering projects that involve applied research, policy experience and an understanding of national training.

You will work closely with subject matter experts, internal stakeholders and external partners and lead projects from initial research and stakeholder engagement, through to detailed planning, project management and reporting. You will be experienced using public and industry data, understand policy and have a record of delivering projects end-to-end.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

● Lead projects involving applied research, consultation, stakeholder management and reporting particularly in areas of national training, workforce and/or industry development.

● Provide structured project management across multiple, concurrent initiatives and deliver agreed outcomes within agreed parameters

● Produce and present reports for senior leaders and support project governance

● Engage diverse stakeholders and lead effective, reliable consultation

● Manage and resolve project risks within delegation and/or escalate to appropriate decision-makers.

What you’ll bring

This role will strongly suit candidates who bring experience from:

● TAFE or the VET sector (highly desirable), particularly in curriculum, workforce planning, product development, or strategy roles.

● Applied research or policy environments requiring analysis, consultation, and synthesis.

● Project management that ensured effective stakeholder engagement from end-to-end.

● Grant-funded programs, organisational change initiatives, or sector-wide projects

In addition, you will:

● Demonstrate experience in applied research, analysis, or program/project work involving consultation and synthesis.

● Strong ability to structure, analyse, and codify complex information into practical outputs.

● Experience preparing board-level or executive-ready papers, briefings, or presentations.

● High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

● Strong project management discipline, including planning, risk management, and reporting.

● Comfort influencing outcomes without formal authority, and working across ambiguity.

Why Join Us

This role offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant projects in a collaborative, purpose-driven organisation. You’ll be trusted to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex initiatives while working alongside experienced professionals who value practical outcomes and strong working relationships.
