A bit about the role
We are seeking a diligent and capable Financial Accountant to support the management of our global financial function.. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple jurisdictions- including Australia, the USA, the UK, and the EU- while maintaining robust reporting standards and internal controls.
Your day-to-day will include:

Financial Oversight: Maintain and support the integrity of the general ledger and review transactional outputs to ensure all entries are accurate, complete, and correctly coded.

Global Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, with a specific focus on managing and resolving intercompany transactions across international entities.

Month-End Leadership: Execute the month-end close process, including the preparation of journals, accruals, and comprehensive management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).

International Tax Compliance: Coordinate statutory filings and tax obligations, supporting compliance with GST, VAT, and corporate tax requirements across all operating territories.

Local Tax Compliance: Working with external advisors to ensure the corporate group meets its tax compliance obligations under Australian legislation, including payroll tax, FBT, and income tax.

Process Improvement: Monitor and maintain accounting systems (Xero), the company’s ERP system, and financial controls, while identifying opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, controls, and workflow efficiency.

Stakeholder Support: Provide reliable financial insights and reporting to leadership and the board to support informed commercial decision-making.

This is a part-time position spanning across 3 days per week (22.8 hours per week). The schedule is flexible, and we’re happy to work with you to find a rhythm that suits your availability. Our team works from home on Fridays, but is in the office for the remainder of the week. Our preference is to have this position working onsite at our Abbotsford office to maximise collaboration opportunities within our friendly, supportive team.

We’re looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with proven experience in multi-entity reporting and a proactive approach to maintaining global financial integrity.

Have a Global Mindset: You have experience in international accounting environments (AUS, USA, UK, or EU) and are comfortable working with multi-currency and intercompany transactions.

Be a Xero Expert: You are highly proficient in Xero and other modern accounting tools, using them to deliver timely, reliable financial reporting and streamlined month-end processes.

Value Precision: You have a strong attention to detail, ensuring that balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger entries are accurate and well maintained.

Possess Technical Versatility: You have a sound understanding of statutory filings (GST/VAT) and are building your technical knowledge through your CA or CPA studies.

Take Initiative and Solve Problems: You are naturally proactive, comfortable working independently, and willing to research unfamiliar issues or evolving regulations to find practical, well-informed solutions.

Communicate with Impact: You can explain financial information clearly and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
