About the Company

Magellan Laboratories (Magellan) is a private Australian company with expertise in research, development and manufacturing of stem cells for the treatment of osteoarthritis.

Magellan is at the forefront of stem cell research for osteoarthritis globally. We are leading the way in scientific, clinical and commercial expertise for stem cell supply and development, for both autologous treatments which use the patient’s own cells, and allogeneic treatments which use selected donor cells.

We have built a state-of-art GMP facility at our Braeside location for manufacturing of our MAG-200 product which will improve the lives of people currently living with joint pain and mobility issues.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Logistics Coordinator to support our facility and product manufacturing teams who manufacture stem cell products in compliance with the Australian Code of Good Manufacturing Practice.

This is a permanent position for 0.75 FTE or 30 hours per week, 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday, located at our new state of the art facility located in Braeside.

Duties

The Logistics Coordinator’s primary responsibility is for all tasks associated with the daily running of Logistics at our Braeside facility.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Goods receipt – receive and manage delivery dockets and labelling of inward goods
  • Sampling of incoming goods for Quality Control testing and perform basic QC checks
  • Decartoning and re-stocking Production and Laboratory Consumable Stores
  • Ensure temperature sensitive items are checked and handled appropriately
  • Inventory Management including regular cycle counting for Lab Consumables and perform accurate inventory counting to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies
  • Coordinate outgoing couriers including preparing shipments for cold chain logistics
  • Keeping storage areas and facility clean, organised, neat and tidy
  • Management of Waste Materials and related facility services and utilities for the site (e.g. chaperone of external service personnel)
  • Compliance with the site’s OHS / Quality Systems and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure warehouse and distribution activities are cGMP compliant including maintaining meticulous inventory records
  • Prepare and contribute to writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Materials management and Logistics function

Skills & Experience

  • Completed a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Can-do, positive attitude with a solution focused mindset
  • Proven experience in inventory control and management, preferably in a scientific or laboratory setting
  • Competent in Manual handling and ability to lift occasional heavy goods/items (approx. 10-15kg) including use of storage area pallet truck or materials handling equipment.
  • Experience in implementing electronic warehouse management systems will be highly regarded
