We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory
Care Nurse to join our team based in Milton.
About the role
Working as part of the Consumer Programs team, you will be responsible for delivering a telephone-based service to support people living with COPD, bronchiectasis and other chronic lung diseases to better understand and achieve evidence-based management strategies in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide telephone support to people living with chronic lung disease, as well as their carers and family members.
- Identify gaps in existing resources and support the development of new written web and video-based materials to meet the needs of the consumer cohort.
- Raise awareness of LFA resources and support services to consumers.
- Support patients and/or carers in advocating for their health needs and navigating available services relating to lung disease.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a nursing role.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, empathetically and effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to translate complex medical information into clear, accessible and plain language resources for patients.
- Strong time management and organisation skills.
- Digital literacy with proficiency in
- Microsoft Office and confidence utilising client relationship management systems such as Salesforce.
Previous experience working in an information and support service or helpline environment, and experience in chronic disease and/or respiratory care, would be highly regarded.
