Field Service Technician – Water Chemistry & Fabrication

Description

We’re seeking a multi-skilled technician with a water chemistry background and strong fabrication skills to service and assemble advanced water purification systems for laboratories, research facilities, and scientific applications.

This role offers variety:

3–4 days on the road servicing systems across the Perth metro area.

1–2 days in the workshop fabricating and assembling new systems.

Key Responsibilities

Service and maintain laboratory water systems, including emergency callouts.

Assemble, fabricate, and install new systems (PVC, ABS, stainless steel piping, cabinetry, aluminum framing).

Perform water quality testing (pH, turbidity, chemical analysis) and chemical dosing.

Replace and configure filtration media, membranes, and ion exchange units.

Collaborate with engineers to improve system efficiency and reliability.

Conduct quarterly regional trips (Bunbury, Geraldton, etc.).

Keep accurate service, maintenance, and test records.

✅ Who We’re Looking For

Hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude.

Skilled in both client-facing service and workshop fabrication.

Able to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.

🧠 Core Skills & Requirements

Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.

Mechanical assembly, plumbing, or fabrication background.

Strong understanding of water treatment or chemical processes.

Technical troubleshooting and repair skills.

Physically able to lift up to 30 kg.

White Card, valid driver’s license, and background clearance.

🛠️ Bonus Skills

Experience with reverse osmosis, ion exchange, or ultra-pure water systems.

Plumbing skills in PVC, ABS, or stainless steel.

Light fabrication (cabinetry, aluminum framing, mechanical work).

Laboratory equipment servicing experience.
