We are currently seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to lead our Mandurah branch.
The Role
This is a hands-on, goal oriented role for a motivated Operations Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of traffic control services while maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the safe and compliant delivery of traffic management services.
- Provide clear direction and guidance to traffic controllers in relation to safe work practices that align with company policies and procedures, legislative obligations and industry best practice.
- Conduct site audits and promote a strong safety and compliance culture.
- Drive day-to-day traffic management operations and ensure
- Optimised operational service delivery and workforce allocation
- Delivery of operational KPIs and targets
- Management, cultivation and enhancement of supervisor, support staff and traffic controller performance
- Oversee and conduct work site and workgroup inspections
- Client, contractor and local authority engagement and business development
- Assist with recruitment process, including interviewing candidates
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into workgroups
- Coach, mentor and train all team members
- Foster a strong solution orientated, transparent, accountable and safety focused culture
- Development and implementation of operational strategies and procedures
- Ensure operational compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to works
- Report to and advise the General Manager
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 2 years’ demonstrated success in an Operational Management role in a medium organisation (preferably Traffic Management)
- Strong engaging and well communicated leadership combined with strong people management skills and a thorough understanding of how to build and maintain a positive and solution orientated team culture
- The ability to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation
- High level of organisational skills with the ability to self-manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to achieve meaningful daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s
- Ability to develop effective reports
- Ability to think analytically and develop effective strategies
- Strong focus on safety and compliance
- Intermediate to advanced computing skills and experience in the use of MS office and web-based software
- Good knowledge of Work Health & Safety regulations
- Strong understanding of Traffic Management regulations (preferred)
