This role is not for everyone, but it might be perfect for you.
Leading Teams is seeking an experienced facilitator to join our team; you could be based in Sydney or Brisbane.
This work requires judgement, courage, preparation, and the ability to lead challenging behavioural conversations with leaders and teams. It is not about presenting content or running activities. It is about influencing behaviour, strengthening relationships, and improving performance.
If you are comfortable holding the line, challenging respectfully, and being challenged yourself, read on.
Our purpose
Our purpose is simple: we help teams and individuals to be high performing.
We do this by working on the things that most directly influence performance:
- Leadership behaviour.
- Team dynamics and culture.
- Clarity of purpose.
- Strong professional relationships.
- Genuine conversations.
We believe behaviour drives culture, and culture drives performance.
About Leading Teams
Leading Teams has been helping teams perform better for over 25 years. We work across corporate, education, government, and elite sport environments.
Our clients are diverse. What they have in common is a desire to perform better and a willingness to look honestly at their behaviour to do so. We are prepared to say no to work that does not align with our model or our standards.
We aim to be our clients’ most valued partner.
How we work
We use a clear, consistent model that anchors everything we do.
We believe:
- Dynamics drive mechanics.
- Leadership is defined by behaviour, not title.
- What leaders walk past, they accept; and
- Culture is shaped by what is modelled, rewarded, and challenged.
Facilitators are expected to understand this model deeply and live it, internally and externally.
What defines our organisation
We have an agreed behavioural framework that defines how we behave with each other and with our clients. These behaviours are expected, rewarded, and challenged.
- We take responsibility
- We show initiative
- We live our model
- We find ways to collaborate
- We show genuine care
The role in action
Facilitators at Leading Teams are expected to:
- Lead rooms where there may be discomfort, tension, or resistance
- Challenge senior leaders respectfully and directly
- Prepare thoroughly and adapt in the moment
- Hold the line to the model, even when it is uncomfortable
- Receive and act on feedback about their own behaviour
- Contribute actively to the culture and performance of the facilitator team
This work is rewarding. It is also demanding. We support each other strongly, and we expect a lot of each other.
Development and accountability
We invest heavily in the development of our facilitators because the standard of our work depends on it.
Facilitators are expected to actively participate in:
- Regular professional development days
- Ongoing reviews and feedback
- Reflection on their own facilitation and leadership behaviour
Development at Leading Teams is not optional. It is part of the role. We hold ourselves to the same standards we expect of our clients.
What we are looking for
We are interested in facilitators who:
- Have experience leading groups through complex or challenging conversations
- Are comfortable working with senior leaders
- Can link behaviour to culture and performance
- Are reflective, coachable, and open to feedback
- Care deeply about impact, not ego
Industry background is less important than judgement, presence, and behavioural credibility.
What you can expect
- A strong, supportive facilitator team
- Clear standards and expectations
- Ongoing development and challenge
- Work that is meaningful and impactful
- An environment where behaviour matters
Is this the right fit for you?
If you are motivated by impact, prepared to be challenged, and committed to becoming a better facilitator and leader, we encourage you to apply.
If you are looking for a role that prioritises comfort over accountability, this is unlikely to be the right fit.
The opportunity
Leading Teams operates as a single organisation made up of multiple Villages. Each Village is accountable for its client relationships, commercial performance, and contribution to the broader Leading Teams team.
We are continuing to grow our Northern States operations and are seeking a full-time Facilitator based in Sydney or Brisbane.
This role requires someone who can:
- Build and manage trusted client relationships.
- Grow and sustain their own client base; and
- Contribute commercially while holding the Leading Teams standards
An existing professional network in Sydney or Brisbane and surrounding regions will be highly regarded.
This is a leadership role with commercial accountability, not a delivery-only position.
Remuneration and benefits
We offer:
- A base salary package (including superannuation) in the range of $150,000.
- Phone, laptop, and car allowance.
- The opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus once agreed measures are exceeded.
Performance measures are clear and linked to:
- Client impact.
- Commercial contribution; and
- Behaviour aligned with our model.
Facilitators manage their own schedules and operate with a high degree of autonomy. This role supports working from home, with travel (regional and interstate) required to facilitate client sessions.
We support parental leave in line with Australian Government guidelines.
Autonomy is earned and maintained through trust, performance, and behaviour.
