Position Purpose:
To provide planning advice and services across a variety of planning disciplines and to a range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring professional standards are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities / Key Outcomes: Including but not limited to:
Client Management
• Manage existing, new, and potential clients through regular meetings and contact. Providing accurate estimates and delivering on the work.
• Providing clients with honest planning advice and innovative solutions.
Maintain key stakeholder relationships
• Maintain relationships with key council contacts.
• Engagement of other consultants (traffic, Geotech, Noise, archaeology, landscape, ecology etc) and be the key point of contact for that engagement.
• Maintain internal relationships with other team members (e.g. surveyors, engineers, project managers) to ensure accurate offers of service; and timely delivery of services.
Achieve billing targets
• Set tasks or comfortable to request additional tasks to ensure an average of 30 billable hours a week.
Enhance the Land Matters brand
• In all dealings with staff, clients and consultants you will show the utmost professionalism always portraying the company values of honest advice.
Project Management
Provide the following at an acceptable professional standard:
• Preparation of fee proposals & offers of service for potential clients.
• Project planning including overseeing invoicing of clients and delivery of advice
• Project advice – timely, honest and robust
• Concepts including initial advice on land use and subdivision options
• Maintain good record keeping (keeping minutes of al meetings and discussions utilising our Synergy Documents software system etc).
Resource Consent and preparation of planning documents
Provide the following at an acceptable professional standard:
• Designation and Notices of Requirement applications.
• Resource Consent Applications
• Submissions and review of applications on behalf of clients
• Submissions on National, Regional and District Plans and Policy Statements
• Plan Changes under the 1st Schedule
• Private Plan Change applications
• Local Authority Hearings
• Environment Court Hearings
• Consultation material
• Mediation
• Associated Historic Places Trust applications
• Designation and Notices of Requirement applications
Supporting the Director in day-to-day duties and responsibilities
• Following up on any action items
• Being available on-site for weekly team meeting
• Any other tasks or duties required
Location
• Ability to work in Ōtaki office, remotely or off site as required
