The role:

Gowrie Training & Consultancy (RTO45602), a leader in delivering education and care qualifications, is seeking an experienced and proactive RTO Manager to lead best practice compliance, quality and operational systems in alignment with the 2025 RTO Standards. As part of the Learning, Development & Inclusion team, you will play a key role in strengthening sector partnerships, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, student-centred training and assessment.

This position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and reports directly to the General Manager of Learning, Development & Inclusion. The role is located at Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s Head Office in South Hobart.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and support the RTO team, fostering a professional, high performing culture aligned with the 2025 RTO Standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sector partners, employers, government bodies and other education partners to ensure training remains current and connected to industry needs.
  • Oversee professional development for the RTO team and maintain PD records to ensure compliance and sector currency requirements are met.
  • Ensure full compliance with the 2025 RTO Standards, regulatory requirements, funding conditions, organisational policies and the self assurance framework.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement, including oversight of risk management systems (Camms), data accuracy, reporting, evaluation and confidentiality obligations.
  • Leverage technology to strengthen RTO systems, streamline processes and support innovation in operations and delivery.
  • Monitor student progression and ensure timely advancement aligned with individual training plans, organisational goals and budget expectations.
  • Coordinate, support and quality assure training and assessment in line with the Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS), including resource planning and delivery oversight.
  • Lead assessment validation activities and ensure training and assessment practices are fair, reliable, engaging and aligned to sector expectations.
  • Oversee student centred training environments and manage complaints and appeals in line with RTO policy.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registration Working with Vulnerable People (Employee) and current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Current VET qualification and experience
  • Current Drivers Licence and ability to travel statewide
  • Access to use of own motor vehicle – which is insured in relation to work related use

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the VET Quality Framework, including the 2025 RTO Standards, AentiQF, and relevant state and national regulatory requirements
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to achieve outcomes against strategic and operational goals including ability to implement, monitor, and continuously improve compliance systems, policies, and audit readiness.
  • Commitment to quality outputs/outcomes within a VET environment ensuring efficient workflow
  • Ability to lead, empower and guide a positive team and work environment
  • Proven ability in high level decision making and problem-solving skills
