Base in Port Melbourne, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Financial Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client billing and purchase requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Junior Financial Administrator will work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the organization’s financial activities.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Team Lead, the Junior Finance Administrator will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Handle client billing
  • Assist with project billing as required
  • Manage aged debtors
  • Liaise with the bank regarding debtor financing account matters as directed
  • Handle procurement requests for offices and clients
  • Maintain data update in CMMS system
  • Aid in the preparation and completion of internal working paper requirements as directed
  • Process supplier invoices while ensuring adherence to the Delegation of Authority and facilitating timely payments
  • Process corporate overhead invoices and maintain accurate coding
  • Next step – contribute to the preparation and processing of end-of-month journals, including accruals
  • Assist with other ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualified or currently studying an Accounting/Finance-related course
  • Ability to perform basic analysis or assist with more involved analysis of accounting information, reviewed by senior team members
  • Competence in conducting research, compiling reports, and redirecting information when necessary
  • Capability to provide information and guidance to staff and managers proactively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
