Kiama Community College is seeking a passionate and values-driven Course Manager to lead the delivery of impactful training programs that empower individuals, strengthen communities and create lasting opportunities, particularly through meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

About The Role

As Course Manager, you will lead the coordination and continuous improvement of vocational education and training programs, including foundation skills and community-based learning initiatives. Working closely with trainers, students and community stakeholders, you will:

  • Provide educational leadership and support to training teams
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities and organisations
  • Ensure programs are inclusive, culturally responsive and aligned to community needs
  • Drive student engagement, retention and success
  • Oversee compliance, quality and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to innovative program design and delivery

What We’re Looking For

You’re a collaborative and empathetic leader who:

  • Has experience in vocational education and training and program management
  • Is passionate about closing gaps in educational access and outcomes
  • Demonstrates genuine commitment to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Brings strong communication, relationship-building and leadership skills
  • Understands quality frameworks (ASQA) and values high-quality, compliant delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Experience leading teams and managing training programs
  • A strong belief in the potential of every learner
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully across diverse communities
  • Current Working With Children Check and National Criminal History Check
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • C Class Driver’s Licence

Location: Nowra with travel across the Illawarra Shoalhaven
