About the Role

As our Senior Payroll Officer, you will take ownership of the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payroll across multiple entities for approximately 350 employees across QLD, NSW and VIC, covered by a mix of modern awards and enterprise agreements. Reporting to the Group Payroll & Talent Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies, while managing complex payroll data and competing deadlines. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to confidently resolve payroll queries and issues in a fast-paced environment.

Please note, this role will also be required to provide administrative support with preparing Employment Contracts, Variations and related employee documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payrolls across multiple entities and systems
  • Interpret awards, EBAs, and legislation to calculate entitlements including allowances, penalties, overtime, and leave
  • Review and verify timesheets, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy prior to pay runs
  • Manage payroll inboxes and respond to employee enquiries regarding pay, leave, and entitlements
  • Prepare payroll adjustments including terminations, back-payments, and corrections
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with legislative and audit requirements

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally in a multi-entity or high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of FairWork legislation, EBAs, and statutory obligations
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
