Description

At Kevria, we deliver support that is compassionate, capable and grounded in real-world experience. This is not a standard support role. We are seeking experienced Behaviour Therapy Assistants to work alongside participants with complex health needs and behaviours of concern.

This role requires resilience, confidence and a strong understanding of structured support approaches. It is suited to those who are clinically aware, emotionally steady and not easily unsettled.

About the Role

You will be supporting individuals whose needs may include:

  • High-level personal care including hygiene and mobility support
  • Swallowing care and mealtime management (strict adherence to plans required)
  • Presentations of complex behaviours linked to unmet needs, requiring calm, consistent and therapeutic support
  • Structured daily routines that require consistency and precision
  • You will work within clearly defined care and behaviour support plans.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver safe, consistent personal and complex care
  • Implement behaviour support strategies as prescribed
  • Remain calm and responsive during high-pressure situations
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation (progress notes, incidents, handovers)
  • Work closely with SIL Captains, clinicians and the broader team
  • Support participants to engage safely in daily life

This Role Is Not for Everyone

This role involves:

  • Exposure to challenging behaviours, including physical and verbal escalation
  • Situations that require quick thinking, emotional regulation and professional boundaries
  • Following structured plans even when under pressure

If you are looking for a low-demand or passive support role, this will not be the right fit.

About You

You are:

  • Experienced in disability support, particularly with behaviours of concern
  • Confident delivering personal care and complex support needs
  • Calm, grounded and consistent in your approach
  • Able to follow structured plans with discipline and accuracy
  • A strong communicator who can work within a team-based model of care
  • Physically and emotionally capable of managing high-intensity environments

Qualifications in disability, nursing, behaviour support or related fields will be highly regarded.

Why This Role Matters

Our participants rely on skilled, steady support to maintain their safety, dignity and quality of life. Inconsistent or unprepared support can have serious impacts.

At Kevria, we invest in the right people – those who show up, stay consistent and deliver care the way it is intended.

Kevria – where care is collaborative, respectful and person-led.
