The Opportunity
Karmo is a fast-growing automotive business redefining how people access vehicles through flexible subscription solutions, and we’re now looking for a Head of People & Culture to lead and evolve the function as we scale.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the People & Culture function end to end, shaping how the business attracts talent, manages performance, managing risk and builds a culture that can scale.
You’ll step into a function with strong foundations in place, with the opportunity to refine, elevate and embed it across a national footprint.
The Role
Your scope is broad, and intentionally so.
You’ll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to ER, IR and WHS, ensuring compliance is embedded in every decision while where the workforce are engaged, supported and clear on expectations.
You’ll partner closely with the Executive team, providing direct and pragmatic advice while challenging where needed. You’ll continue to build structure, refine frameworks and lift capability to support a growing national business.
You’ll also lead a Talent and Culture Coordinator who supports recruitment and administration, ensuring the function runs efficiently while you focus on both strategic direction and operational impact.
This is a role for someone who can move between strategy and execution without hesitation, and who takes pride in getting both right.
A Day in the Life
One day you’re working through a complex ER matter with a senior leader, ensuring a fair, compliant and commercially sound outcome. The next, you’re managing a WHS risk, reviewing recruitment activity or advising the CEO on structure, capability and future growth.
Throughout it all, you balance compliance with engagement, protecting the business while building a culture people want to be part of.
No two days look the same, but each one calls for ownership, sound judgement and a willingness to lead from the front.
About You
You’re a proven People & Culture leader with a strong generalist background and the confidence to operate across the full spectrum, from recruitment through to ER, IR and WHS. You may already be operating at Head of level, or be a Senior Advisor or Manager ready to step up, ideally with experience in a scaling or evolving business.
You’re commercially minded and comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments. You know how to influence and challenge senior leaders, including at CEO level, while keeping outcomes front of mind.
You don’t wait for direction. You step in, build structure where it’s needed and take ownership of results from start to finish.
Experience in a multi-site or operational environment is highly regarded, with automotive experience advantageous but not essential.
Above all, you focus on outcomes. You don’t just stay busy, you make a difference.
What’s in it for You
This is a genuine opportunity to shape and influence a growing national business, with direct access to Executive leadership and involvement in key decision making.
You’ll have the autonomy to lead, refine and elevate the People & Culture function, with the trust and backing to do it properly.
You’ll be part of a business that values pace, accountability and outcomes, where your impact will be visible and meaningful.
You’ll be recognised with a competitive salary, along with access to a discounted vehicle subscription, a phone allowance and flexible hybrid working with two days from home each week.
Ready to make your mark?
If this sounds like the kind of role you’ve been waiting for, we’d love to hear from you!
