The RAES Project and Operations Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering RAES activities across both town and outreach communities. This position ensures that all projects and activities meet compliance requirements and are delivered with a participant-centred and culturally appropriate approach.
The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing project implementation, mentoring activity supervisors, managing risks, building stakeholder relations and supporting continuous engagement with participants in line with RAES guidelines and community needs.

Salary Range: $88,332.34 – 97,935.64 per annum (pro-rata)
Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month
Location: Kalano’s CDP Administration Office – 2/3 First Street, Katherine NT
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm]
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the design, implementation, promotion and monitoring of community projects in both town and remote outreach communities, ensuring alignment with RAES outcomes and local priorities.
•Provide coaching, mentoring, and supervision to project staff and participants, fostering a supportive and culturally appropriate environment.
•Coordinate training activities (including foundational skills, vocational skills, and work readiness), ensuring all are tailored to participant needs addressing barriers for employment and community expectations.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, relevant government representatives, RTOs, and other stakeholders to support project delivery and workforce development.
•Maintain accurate records of attendance, team performance, progress, incidents, and asset usage to prepare reports and compliance documentation as required.
•Ensure all activities comply with RAES contract requirements, and guidelines, organisation WHS standards, and relevant legislation by conducting risk assessments/annual site inspections and developing risk mitigation strategies with relevant staff guidance.
Essential Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):
•Demonstrated experience in managing community development projects or employment-related programs, preferably in remote or Indigenous contexts.
•Proven ability to lead, support, and develop multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on mentoring and skills-building.
•Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work collaboratively with different community, industry, and government partners.
•Knowledge of strengths-based, culturally responsive practice, with a commitment to supporting employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
•High-level organisational and time management skills, with experience managing teams, projects, training activities, and program reporting.
•Strong understanding of the WHS practices, compliance requirements of RAES program, its objectives, and the context of remote employment and economic development policy.
•Ability to work independently and travel to outreach communities within Katherine region when required.
