Description

The RAES Outreach Support Officer is responsible for supporting the effective, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) activities across the Katherine Region. This position plays a key role in assisting job seekers to:

  • Identify and overcome barriers to employment participation
  • Secure sustainable employment outcomes
  • Access appropriate referral pathways to training, activities, job vacancies, or other relevant support services

The position involves regular outreach visits to communities including Pine Creek, Jodetluk, Rockhole, and Kybrook Farm, as well as working from the Katherine Office as required. The RAES Outreach Support Officer must maintain a sound working knowledge of all RAES business processes, compliance requirements, and service delivery standards.

This role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with participants, employers, community organisations, and internal staff to achieve the overall aims of the RAES program.

Remuneration package:

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $76,963.03 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month

Location: Kalano’s CDP Administration Office – 2/3 First Street, Katherine NT

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm]

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Objectives

  • Follow work procedures as directed by the RAES Administration CoOrdinator.
  • Deliver programs in accordance with contractual requirements and individual targets.
  • Implement case management principles and practices.

Engagement and Support

  • Engage referred job seekers and raise their awareness of RAES services.
  • Assist job seekers in identifying barriers to employment and developing strategies to overcome them.
  • Develop goals and actions with job seekers to achieve these goals.

Job Preparation

  • Develop resumes and cover letters with job seekers.
  • Organize transport for job seekers to attend activities, appointments, and interviews.

Employer Liaison

  • Liaise with employers to maximize job seeker participation in local employment.
  • Effectively place job seekers into employment and record placement information for follow-up.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Report all activities of job seekers as per funding guidelines.
  • Refer job seekers to suitable community projects, activities, or jobs.
  • Ensure all relevant information is recorded accurately in required systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date data entries.

Outreach Activities

  • Engage with RAES participants through outreach activities, including community visits, phone support, virtual support, and group information sessions.
  • Seek, record, and report feedback from local participants and community stakeholders for future projects.
  • Adapt service delivery based on participant needs and situations, including possible travel to remote locations

Essential Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

  • Competent use of computer software packages (Word, Excel, email, and internet).
  • Ability to work in a team and act proactively, independently, and creatively.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of EEO principles and practices.
  • Understanding of WHS principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with RAES guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated initiative in supporting job seekers and employers.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within RAES region 31.
  • Current Police Check
  • Working with Children’s Clearance
