Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead and support our people strategy across the Jo Mercer and Wittner brands. Working between 2 offices with your direct report, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is passionate about building strong teams and driving organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to deliver strategic HR initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Award interpretation experience is essential- preferably the General Retail Industry Award.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, and workplace policies.
  • Manage and optimise HR systems, with a strong focus on Employment Hero.
  • Lead learning and development initiatives to enhance team capability.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice HR standards.
  • Drive employee engagement, culture, and retention strategies.
  • Manage pre and post payroll in collaboration with outsourced provider (via Employment Hero).
  • Previous experience managing a direct report or small teams.

About You

  • Proven experience in a HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role, ideally within retail or a multi-site environment.
  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with Employment Hero (essential).
  • Solid understanding of Australian employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable working in a fully office-based role, 5 days per week.
