ROLE SUMMARY
The Industry Partnerships & Alumni Manager is responsible for building strategic, high-value relationships that embed industry into the student experience and support JMC Academy’s graduate success. This role drives business development by identifying and securing partnerships, sponsorships, and real world learning opportunities such as internships, WIL placements, guest lectures, and collaborative projects. Working closely with academic and professional staff, the Manager ensures industry engagement is meaningfully integrated into curriculum design and delivery. They also lead alumni engagement and events to foster ongoing connection, career development, and creative collaboration within the JMC community. Through a combination of stakeholder management, data insights, and targeted campaigns, this role delivers tangible value to students, partners, and the institution.
This role can be based at any of our campuses in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Industry Engagement & Partnership Development
- Identify, establish, and maintain partnerships with organisations across the creative industries to support internships, work placements, collaborative projects, and graduate employment.
- Develop partnership proposals and manage partnership agreements in line with strategic goals.
- Coordinate industry advisory boards or roundtables to inform curriculum and career development initiatives.
Alumni Engagement & Relations
- Design and implement an alumni engagement strategy, including events, newsletters, and digital communities.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive alumni database and track outcomes using the CRM system.
- Leverage alumni success stories for brand marketing, guest lectures, mentoring, and student inspiration.
Graduate Employability & Pathways
- Collaborate with Careers and Academic teams to align partnership opportunities with graduate outcomes.
- Support the development of co-curricular and industry-integrated learning experiences.
- Monitor trends in creative industry employment and advise on skills and role demand.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop compelling content and communications that promote partner and alumni success stories.
- Work with Marketing to highlight industry engagement in campaigns, publications, and PR.
- Facilitate effective two-way communication between JMC, alumni, and industry.
Monitoring, Reporting & Improvement
- Track and report on partnership and alumni engagement metrics and impact.
- Continuously refine engagement and partnership strategies based on feedback and outcomes.
- Champion a culture of innovation and collaboration across all engagement activities.
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industry engagement, partnerships, alumni relations, or stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience designing and delivering partnership proposals, alumni events, or engagement strategies.
- Strong project management, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working in higher education or the creative industries sector.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital communication platforms.
- Experience using platforms such as Salesforce, Hubspot, or similar alumni management tools.
- Understanding of student employability, creative industry career pathways, and graduate tracking.
- Ability to develop value propositions for partnerships and engagement initiatives.
