Description

Jem Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Officer/Doctor to join our team on a casual basis. This role involves working at our brand new Waratah clinic with 1-2 shifts per week during business hours, planned in advance. The position offers flexibility to work on varying days, providing an excellent work-life balance.

The successful candidate will be an AHPRA registered doctor who can work independently, and will be responsible for conducting pre-employment medical assessments alongside our skilled team of Registered Nurses/Occupational Health Assessors. You will review and oversee the pre-employment medicals completed by our team, as well as perform basic skin examinations (skin check experience is essential). Order 43 accreditation is required for this role, as well as being qualified to conduct Category 1 and 2 Rail Safety medical assessments.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct physical examinations and pre-employment medical assessments
  • Review pre-employment medical assessments completed by our team of qualified Registered Nurses/Occupational Health Assessors
  • Administer Immunisations/Vaccinations
  • Conduct Injury Management/Return to Work assessments
  • Provide education and counselling on health and wellness to workers/candidates

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia is essential
  • Order 43 accreditation
  • Category 1 and 2 Rail Safety qualified
  • Fully registered (AHPRA) doctor who can work independently
  • Possess a primary medical degree and relevant postgraduate medical experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build rapport
  • Intermediate computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Skin check experience is essential
  • Occupational health experience is desirable
  • Exceptional time management, organisation and ability to work autonomously
  • Registered Rail AHP (or willingness to complete)
  • OGUK certification (or willingness to complete)
  • MRO certification (or willingness to complete)
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
