Community Engagement Role Supporting Women’s Health Across Australia
Exciting Community Engagement Project Officer role working as part of a collaborative team on women’s health projects and campaigns, to help deliver community-led initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing of women, girls and gender-diverse people across Australia. This is a 12 months parental leave cover.

About the role
The Partnerships and Engagement team identifies and engages external community groups and organisations with which Jean Hailes partners to deliver on our strategic objectives and shared goals. The team also oversees the delivery of externally funded projects that span functions across
Jean Hailes. The goal of this work is to connect organisations and initiatives across the health and related sectors to facilitate and drive change for women’s health.
The Community Engagement Project Officer supports the planning and delivery of community engagement activities. The role assists in the coordination and day‑to‑day management of partnerships with external stakeholders, community organisations and campaign hosts, supporting the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships that enhance the reach and impact of Jean Hailes initiatives.
Through effective coordination, partnership support and relationship management, the position contributes to strengthening community connections and meaningful participation, expanding the reach of Jean Hailes initiatives, and supporting the effective and timely delivery of women’s health programs and campaigns.
About you
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development or project support roles
- Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Well-developed computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and customer relationship management systems
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required
- Understanding of inclusive, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed engagement practices
Desirable
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, accurate work
- Commitment to delivering high-level, responsive customer and stakeholder service, including engagement with community partners
- Experience supporting project coordination activities, including tracking tasks, timelines and deliverables
- Strong data entry skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and databases to support reporting and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to use digital platforms and systems such as e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify), content management systems and CRM/Marketing systems (e.g. Insightly) to support program delivery and engagement activities
