About the Role

Joining our Workforce Australia team the Post Placement Support Officer provides ongoing support to Jobseekers and employers after a placement to ensure retention and sustainable employment. You’ll play an important role in program performance by identifying retention risks early, providing tailored support and maintaining accurate documentation to meet program requirements. This position is ideal for someone who understands community needs, values program compliance, and is committed to making a difference in the lives of Jobseekers.

What you will do

This role involves staying connected with Jobseekers and employers throughout the first 26 weeks of employment, providing ongoing support to encourage retention and sustainable outcomes. You will help identify any barriers early, coordinate referrals, and promote inclusive engagement for all participants.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, your knowledge of the local labour market will guide your support and contribute to positive program results.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate, audit ready documentation by recording all contact, progress, and milestone updates in the required systems. The position also requires you to track retention milestones, support the lodgement of claims, and ensure all activities align with Workforce Australia guidelines. Along with meeting program performance targets, you will build strong relationships with employers to support ongoing job opportunities.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant experience or qualifications aligned with employment retention support or mentoring.

• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

• An understanding of cultural safety, particularly in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

• Proven ability to work to targets and contract outcomes.

• Strong computer skills and ability to work across digital compliance systems.
