Aboriginal Bush Traders (ABT) is a 100% Aboriginal-owned social enterprise based in Darwin City, supporting Aboriginal artists and communities through ethical retail that ensures artists are paid fairly and represented with integrity. Through our gallery and retail spaces, we showcase authentic Aboriginal art and products from across the Northern Territory, while promoting cultural knowledge, supporting economic independence, and creating meaningful connections between artists and the wider community. About the Role

We are seeking passionate and community minded individuals to join our team as Casual Gallery Assistants in this identified position. As a frontline representative of our social enterprise, you will contribute to a welcoming gallery environment, supporting meaningful connections between visitors, artists, and Aboriginal art and culture.

What you will do

You will provide warm, professional customer service and engage with visitors, sharing information about Aboriginal art and products. You will support daily retail operations, including processing sales, maintaining gallery presentation, and assisting with merchandising and stock control. You will also assist with online orders and contribute to a positive, inclusive and culturally respectful environment for all.

We are looking for someone who has:

·       Experience in retail or customer service

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       A team player with a positive and respectful approach

·       Willingness to learn about Aboriginal art and cultural protocols

·       Availability to work Saturdays as required

·       Knowledge of, or connection to, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture

·       Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

·       Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
