Quality Control Senior Officer

Port Of Brisbane, Queensland 4178, Australia • Full-time

Role Type

On-site • Permanent • Full-time • Mid-level Senior

Description

Go far with IOR

IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven’t heard of… yet.

From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we’ve been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. You won’t see our logo on racing cars. Instead, you’ll be part of a team that helps fuel LifeFlight’s choppers and supports communities around the nation – real work with real impact that’s growing every day.

We’re seeking a Senior Quality Control Officer to turn standards into outcomes that deliver real impact. This role puts you in the driver’s seat—owning IOR’s quality management systems, leading audits and continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring our products meet regulatory and operational excellence as we scale. Working closely with production, engineering and operations teams, you’ll help shape IOR’s growth on our path to becoming Australia’s premier commercial fuel supplier, building a rewarding career with a business that trusts you to own it and go further.

Your opportunity

As IOR’s Senior Quality Control Officer, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding standards as we continue to grow—leading the systems, processes and people that ensure every product meets regulatory and quality expectations. Based at our Port of Brisbane facility, you’ll own the quality management system end‑to‑end, driving audits, assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives that minimise defects, strengthen compliance and lift manufacturing performance. From the shop floor to senior leadership, you’ll turn quality insight into action—protecting our reputation and supporting IOR’s next phase of growth.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system (QMS) in compliance with industry standards.
  • Conducting regular quality inspections and audits to ensure adherence to product specifications and standards.
  • Leading the investigation and resolution of quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Establishing and monitoring key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product quality and process efficiency.

What you’ll bring

You’re a proactive and hands on quality leader who takes pride in setting high standards and making them stick. You know how to build robust quality systems that scale with growth, lead teams with clarity and purpose, and translate regulatory and quality requirements into practical outcomes on the ground. You’re detail driven but commercially minded, with the confidence to challenge, improve and embed best practice quality across a manufacturing environment.

To succeed in this role, you’ll also bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Extensive experience in a quality management or quality control leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proven experience driving continuous improvement initiatives, ideally using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • The ability to lead audits, analyse quality data, identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions

Don’t tick all the boxes, but still think you’d be a great fit? Let’s talk – we can provide training for the right person.
