Description

Go far with IOR

IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven’t heard of… yet. From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we’ve been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. But we think the most exciting journey’s still on the horizon.

Joining IOR means stepping into a role where your work genuinely matters. As part of our People and Culture team, you’ll help shape an engaging employee experience and support the systems, processes and people that keep our business moving forward. This is your chance to contribute to a growing organisation that’s still building, still innovating, and still driven by the same determination that started in the red dirt of Eromanga.

About the role

As our People and Culture Administrator, you’ll be a vital force behind the smooth, consistent and positive experience our team members have from their very first interactions with us. Your work will underpin the entire IOR experience — from delivering engaging onboarding and weekly inductions to managing the processes and documentation that support team movements, changes and updates, assisting with reporting on what we do, and various communications that keep our organisation running with clarity and confidence. This is a hands-on, people-centred role where your organisation, attention to detail and commitment to great service directly shape how our teams feel supported every day.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinating onboarding and delivering weekly inductions, liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and continually improving experience.
  • Preparing People and Culture correspondence such as contracts, letters and role documentation in a timely, professional and consistent manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records, updating HR systems and following People and Culture processes end-to-end, while identifying opportunities to streamline and improve how work is done.
  • Supporting team engagement initiatives and contributing ideas to enhance reach and impact.
  • Assisting with People and Culture meetings, events and reporting, including leveraging available tools and systems to improve efficiency and insights.

What you’ll bring

You’re an organised, approachable person who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. You enjoy supporting people, keeping systems running smoothly and working collaboratively across teams. You’re naturally curious, look for better ways of working, and are open to using new tools and technology to improve processes and outcomes. You handle sensitive information with care and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to your work.

You’ll bring:

  • Qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (or working towards), with experience in HR or administration roles or other relevant experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a professional, people-focused approach.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and HR systems, with the willingness and ability to learn new tools and embrace smarter ways of working.
  • A high level of confidentiality, discretion and integrity when handling sensitive information.

Why join IOR?

Approaching each day through our values of Innovation finding solutions, Our Communities serving people, and Reliability getting results, our team is focused on delivering what really matters to our customers. You’ll also be rewarded with a range of benefits, including:

  • Grow your expertise and career with access to experienced mentors and ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Team member and family discounts on fuel (obviously!)
