Intereach is looking for a kind, dedicated, empathetic and passionate person to join the Multicultural Services (SETS) team.

The Child Family and Community Worker – Multicultural Services is responsible for triage, case management, groupwork and community capacity building in Settlement Engagement Services (SETS). It includes delivering high-quality services and activities with Refugees, Humanitarian Entrants and their families.

The position involves implementing the SETS program in your local area, supporting community volunteers and leaders, providing updates on local program performance and outcomes, and contributing to the positive impact Intereach makes in our communities.

This is a permanent part-time role, 0.6 or 0.8 FTE (3 or 4 days per week). The role will be based in our Mildura office.  

The role is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 4, with an hourly starting salary of $44.58 plus superannuation and access to salary packaging benefits.

About You

We are ideally seeking someone with experience in the industry and a passion for supporting people.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant University or TAFE qualification/s in Social Work or an interdisciplinary field of practice such as Psychology, Allied Health, Welfare, Community Services, or Early Childhood and/or extensive experience in an identified role working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, or Multicultural People. Qualifications that will be completed within 12 months of appointment to the role will be considered.
  • Lived experience and/or working knowledge of issues and opportunities experienced by migrant sand/or refugees, children, young people, and families experiencing disadvantage, trauma, and/or the impacts of mental health challenges and able to provide an example describing how this experience or knowledge has been used to help someone.
  • Experience or understanding of delivering case management services (including assessment, case plan development and implementation, and review) utilising a strengths-based framework and/or facilitating group work (including playgroups, peer support groups, evidence-based group work),and/or experience facilitating community-based initiatives and events.
