Description

We are seeking female Disability Support Workers to join our fantastic team in Ellenbrook.

Your role is to support our clients living with a disability to go about their daily lives the way they want, by giving them support they need, when they need it. Working with our clients, who have diverse and complex needs, requires high levels of reliability and resilience. Your support and mentoring can have a meaningful impact on their lives. However, there will be challenging days due to behaviours and mental health issues. It’s essential to have confidence and resilience to navigate these moments effectively.

You have a mature head on your shoulders, have confidence, resilience, and the ability to think on your feet, and put practical solutions in place. You are experienced in putting professional boundaries in place with empathy and respect. You are supportive and have strong communication skills.

You have experience in working with people with complex and diverse needs such as:

• Challenging and complex behaviours

• Aggression and de-escalation

• Complex polypharmacy and medication support

What we need from you:

• Working rights status

• Current Disability Screening (DHS or NDIS worker Screening)

• Current Working with Children check

• Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)

• Australian Drivers Licence and clean, roadworthy vehicle for transporting clients

• Comprehensive Car insurance for business use

• Good English language skills for both verbal and written communication

• Attention to detail to follow documented plans and for reporting/record-keeping

• An ability to develop positive relationship whilst maintaining strong professional boundaries
