The Role
The Systems Engineer (Verification & Validation) role is accountable to the Engineering Manager under broad direction to perform and achieve design, integration and testing within an integrated workforce. This requires an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision making, the Land Materiel Safety Manual (LMSM), Defence Aviation Safety Regulation and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
About You
Engineering Requirements:
• Maintain engineering related artefacts (Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Technical Certification Plan (TCP)) for CAF16 Systems.
• Support the engineering and configuration management activities for CAF16.
• Assist and provide guidance to the Engineering Manager and System Managers for engineering and configuration management.
• Develop/ review capability engineering requirements and procedural documentation.
• Be the interface between CAF16 Engineering Manager and CAF16 System Managers by working collaboratively in a team to develop systems engineering, technical certification and integration documents.
• Assist the CAF16 Engineering Manager to prepare for Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and JC2SPO Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
• Perform quality control on engineering documentation submitted to the CoA by the vendors.
• Assist CAF16 and JC2SPO engineering with engineering audits of support services vendors.
• Attain Technical/Engineering Authority commensurate with experience, knowledge and qualifications.
• Develop and authorise ECPs appropriate to assigned Technical/Engineering Authority.
Desired experience:
• Demonstrated experience and familiarity with CASG project engineering activities and planning.
• Demonstrated experience and familiarity with Systems Engineering, preferably within CASG/ Defence environment (SEMP, Technical Certification Plans, Requirements Management).
• Demonstrated experience and familiarity with software system safety, security and managing technical risk.
• Demonstrated experience in Verification & Validation (developing, conducting, providing recommendations/outcomes).
• Knowledge/experience of Defence C2 systems/ applications.
• Ability to work with limited guidance demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
• Strong understanding of modern networking, computers and operating systems.
• Advanced technical writing skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
