The Role
The required scope of work includes (but will not be limited to):
1. Provide analytical and coordination support to the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of an effective campaign management approach for The Army Plan, including synchronisation of activities, documentation, and reporting as directed by SO1 Strategic Plans.
2. Support the development and review of Service-level Strategic Plans in support of Land Force Design by conducting continuous analysis of strategic guidance and direction; and preparing recommendations, briefs, and supporting documentation for consideration through the Army Board.
3. Develop and deliver high-quality briefs and decision-support products (including concept-led research and analysis) that enable Land Force Design contribution to, the Objective Land Force and the Integrated Force.
4. Provide briefing and decision-support products to inform Future Land Warfare (FLW) inputs into Land Capability Division (LCD) programs, projects, and products, where aligned with endorsed priorities and tasking.
5. Support FLW product development through research, analysis, and writing, including: Functional Concepts; Conceptual Thinking Pieces; Army Plans and other approved conceptual or analytical products as directed.
6. Provide graphic design and formatting support to assist with the development, refinement, and publication of FLW products, ensuring consistency with Army templates, style guides, and communication standards.
Successful applicants will also be required to:
1. Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues.
2. Be prepared to provide specialist advice to working groups and LCD Stakeholders.
3. Manage obstacles that will impede the deliverables being successfully executed.
4. Successfully collaborate with ADF and APS staff and Defence contractors.
5. Self-manage their hours to ensure contractual obligations are being met and to advise the Project Manager of contractual risks.
6. Not work out of scope of contract.
7. Be capable of working remotely (off site).
About You
Skillset and Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience in military concepts work, including analysis and writing.
- Understanding of the Joint Concepts Framework.
- Understanding of the Defence Strategy Framework.
- Experience with the Defence Capability Life Cycle or One Defence Capability System.
- Knowledge of Defence needs and requirements development.
- General understanding of Defence Finance and procurement policy and procedures from the perspective of the Integrated Investment Program and Integrated Capability Assessment.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in project management and/or systems engineering.
- Must have high-level knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
