The Role
This position will support SO1 Force-In-Being / Capability Assessments Program (FIB/CAP) by providing an interface between Force Design Division and Army Programs. The primary purpose will be implementing the 2026 Integrated Investment Plan (IIP) and National Defence Strategy. This will require the position o employ effective communication strategies to build trusted relationship between VCDF Group and Land Capability Division (LCD) and to deliver consistent and sound capability analysis.
Successful applicants will also be required to:
1. Collaborate with VCDF Group and LCD staff to facilitate the implementation of the 2026 IIP outcomes and associated force design activities.
2. Provide subject matter expertise in Defence capability management.
3. Collaborate with capability staff within Army and across Defence as part of the Integrated Capability Assessment.
4. Assist in implementing the Army Gaps and Opportunities System, including design, coordinating inputs and managing outputs.
5. Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues.
6. Be prepared to provide specialist advice to working groups and LCD Stakeholders.
7. Manage obstacles that will impede the deliverables being successfully executed.
8. Successfully collaborate with ADF and APS staff and Defence contractors.
9. Self-manage their hours to ensure contractual obligations are being met and to advise the Project Manager of contractual risks.
10. Not work out of scope of contract.
11. Be capable of working remotely (off site).
An NV1 security clearance is required for this role.
About You
Skillset and Experience Requirements for this role:
- Previous experience in military concepts, strategy and capability, including analysis and writing.
- Understanding of the Joint Concepts Framework.
- Understanding of the Defence Strategy Framework.
- Experience with the Defence Capability Life Cycle or One Defence Capability System.
- Knowledge of Defence needs and requirements development.
- General understanding of Defence Finance and procurement policy and procedures from the perspective of the Integrated Investment Program and Integrated Capability Assessment.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in project management and/or systems engineering.
- Must have high-level knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
