The Role
The Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) is seeking an experienced Land Integration Framework – Digital Subject Matter Expert (LIF-D SME) to support Army’s digital integration and interoperability initiatives across the Land Combat System (LCS). Working within a highly technical and collaborative environment, the role will support digital integration, systems engineering and interoperability outcomes across major Defence capability programs and Joint/Coalition environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and optimisation of the Land Combat System (LCS) and Land Integration Framework – Digital (LIF-D)
- Provide digital integration advice across Defence capability programs and projects
- Develop technical implementation designs, integration documentation and solution proposals
- Assess capability designs, integration approaches, test and evaluation plans, and sustainment activities
- Support interoperability and integration across Land, Joint and Coalition systems
- Liaise with Army HQ, Land Capability Division (LCD), CASG, CIOG and broader Defence stakeholders
- Contribute to LCS Design (LCSD), integration governance, workshops and stakeholder forums
- Support digital integration activities across programs including LMSP, Land C4, ISREW, Battlefield Aviation, Land Combat Vehicles and related Defence initiatives
- Identify integration risks, support assurance activities and contribute to future-ready capability innovation
About You
You are an experienced Defence systems integration professional with strong technical expertise supporting complex digital integration, interoperability and systems engineering outcomes within Defence or National Security environments.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Defence systems engineering, digital integration, C4ISR or enterprise architecture environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Science or related discipline, or equivalent specialist experience
- Experience in one or more of the following:
– Tactical or enterprise networking
– C4 software and military systems
– Tactical Data Links (TDLs)
– Enterprise Architecture
– Distributed systems
– Tactical/strategic communications bearers and waveforms
– Software systems design and integration
– Autonomous systems
– Fires systems integration
- Strong understanding of interoperability and system-of-systems integration principles
- Experience developing technical documentation, integration advice and solution designs
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across Army, CASG, CIOG and Defence programs
- Strong workshop facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of Defence Capability Model, systems engineering, verification/validation, test & evaluation and risk mitigation methodologies
Highly Regarded:
- Experience within Army HQ, Land Capability Division or Land capability programs
- Understanding of Land Combat Systems (LCS) and LIF-D environments
- Exposure to Joint, Coalition or 5EYES interoperability environments
- Program/project delivery experience within Defence capability environments
