The Role

The Commonwealth requires the services of a Technical Support Specialist to supplement the contractor workforce within Army. This proposal seeks to engage a Specialist with the necessary skill sets to holistically lead Army efforts in Joint and Coalition Integration and Interoperability. The position is a hands-on and advisory role, requiring balanced subject matter expertise over multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will provide the primary work effort to align outcomes in Joint and Coalition CIS to ensure that Army is able to meet its commitments to multiple standards developed by a wide range of organisations and stakeholders, 

About You

You will be responsible for the following:

Technical lead planning for coalition activities including Warfighting Assessments, Project Convergence, Bold Quest and any other activities as required. This includes planning continuum functions such as Planning Conferences, Technical Exchange Working Groups, Network Design Reviews, and specific discipline (network, security, applications) Working Groups.

Development of products to support coalition activities, including System Security Plans and artefacts, Joining Membership and Exiting Instructions, Communications Access Requests, training programs, Key Management Plans et al.

Deliver intensive training, and actively mentor ADF personnel during or pre-activity periods including familiarisation, planning and managing coalition systems, gap training, and unit training exercises.

Lead planning and advice on CIS standards including C4ISR Design Standards Profiles (CDSP’s), ABCANZ, and Federated Mission Networking (FMN). Attendance at, or analysing appropriate SME staffing for attendance.

Participate in project Test and Evaluation events, and undertake necessary technical remediation work, or other role related tasks to enable realisation of directed project IOC milestones

Provision of advice on in-service CIS architecture, capabilities, dependencies, and limitations including deployable mission systems and enterprise infrastructure.This includes cryptographic, black core routing and transmission systems in service or in acquisition phase.

Provide support to innovation proposals (such as mission system build automation), and integration of other systems such as Land Combat Systems, specific applications, joint or coalition networks.

Development of the LCS Battle-Lab distributed connectivity strategy with the Environments and BTN Battle-Lab Leads and delivery of this capability to Army.
