The Role
This RFQ is seeking contractor support for Business Analyst roles in support of a number of Capability Elements. This position will elicit business and technical requirements as well as model complex business processes for the purposes of informing future ICT capability delivery.
The successful candidate will develop a good understanding of the organisation’s long-term technology strategy as well as the needs of the organisation to achieve its mission in an ever-changing environment.
The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with senior decision makers to ensure the role provides business analysis in support of operational customers, project managers, systems architects and software development teams including testers.
The Business Analyst will work with software delivery teams to improve Agile processes that ensure customers’ needs are understood and eventually satisfied.
This role requires that the successful candidate be able to interpret the needs articulated by a diverse set of customers. The role must then take the lead in working with architects and developers to devise solutions that satisfy the customer needs whilst respecting the organisation’s strategic direction as it relates to technology.
The program of work has multiple projects, which range in size. The successful candidate may be required to develop in-depth understanding of each of the projects underway and the business
Other locations than Canberra will be considered.
About You
The Business Analyst will be required to undertake the following:
- Ensure that business requirements and objectives are aligned with the overall strategic goals of the IT project and the organisation.
- Contribute to defining the project’s strategic vision and ensuring that business analysis activities support this vision.
- Prioritise and manage requirements to ensure they are accurately reflected in project deliverables and aligned with project goals
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the project team, facilitating communication and ensuring that stakeholder needs are effectively addressed.
- Engage with stakeholders to validate requirements and gather feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other business analysts on the team, offering mentorship and support to enhance their effectiveness.
- Coordinate with other project leaders to ensure that business analysis activities are integrated with overall project plans and timelines.
- Identify and assess risks and issues related to business requirements and their impact on project outcomes developing mitigation strategies to aid in their management.
- Support the change management process by assessing the impact of changes on business requirements and ensuring that changes are effectively communicated and managed.
- Evaluate and refine business analysis processes and methodologies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of the features and limitations of the Defence and Intelligence ICT environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A PV clearance is required for this role.
