The Role
Support the delivery, integration, testing, sustainment and operational support of deployable ICT, tactical communications and Battlefield Telecommunications Network (BTN) capabilities within a complex Defence environment. The role will contribute to the integration and support of tactical Command and Control (C2) systems, Mission Partner and Coalition networking environments, SATCOM technologies, IBTN equipment and Land Combat System interfaces.
Responsibilities may include supporting Change Control Boards (CCB), developing and executing technical test and validation activities, maintaining hardware and software configuration items, supporting Army deployment activities, producing technical documentation, developing training materials, delivering technical training, engineering pre-production and test environments, and providing Level 2/3 technical support across tactical communications and networking systems.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and multidisciplinary technical teams to support capability integration, operational readiness, sustainment and continuous improvement activities within secure and fast-paced environments
About You
You are an experienced ICT, telecommunications, networking or systems integration professional with experience supporting deployable communications, tactical networking or Defence ICT environments. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support complex technical systems across integration, sustainment, testing, validation and operational support activities.
You will have experience working with technologies such as tactical communications systems, SATCOM, networking and routing technologies, deployable C2 systems, Linux and Windows server environments, virtualisation platforms, scripting and automation tools, secure communications technologies, remote access solutions and collaboration platforms. Experience supporting IBTN equipment, Mission Partner Environments, Coalition or FVEY networks, Voice and Telephony systems, and Army or Defence deployment activities will be highly regarded.
You will be comfortable producing technical documentation, delivering technical training, supporting stakeholders across Defence and industry, and working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in secure operational environments.

- Linux software development or scripting experience
- Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- GUI or web-based application development
- Small Form Factor equipment and DLAN interfaces
- DevOps methodologies and Agile delivery environments
- Systems engineering processes and practices
- Knowledge of the Defence One Defence Capability Model
- Ansible, OpenStack, Git or Development Operations repositories/tools
- WAN emulation or traffic generation tools
