Industry Beans is offering a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and exciting specialty coffee roasting team. This role is ideal for someone with specialty coffee experience who is looking to advance their career in a professional environment.
The Role
The Coffee Roaster & Production Assistant will be responsible for roasting and packing coffee in the roastery, assisting with maintenance and preparation duties, and completing deliveries to customer accounts. This role is perfect for individuals who have a passion for learning and sharing knowledge about specialty coffee, acquiring new skills, and building relationships with clients.
This is a Casual role, completing approximately 2 days per week, with potential for additional hours and growth for the right candidate.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Working in the Roastery as a team and operating the coffee roasters.
- Processing, packing, and dispatching wholesale and retail orders.
- Opening, closing, and maintaining the roasting area and plant equipment.
- Maintain expertise and involvement in small-batch coffee roasting including participating in cupping sessions for quality assurance.
- Cultivate relationships with our clients and the team at each account.
- Monitor and address all client needs, including technical support, troubleshooting, quality concerns, and ordering.
- Effectively communicate client needs with the Accounts team and assist in organising support as needed.
- Adhere to established systems and processes while maintaining a safe and tidy roastery.
You’ll be perfect for this role if you have:
- Extensive knowledge of coffee and barista experience (roasting experience highly desired).
- An engaging personality with an outcome-focused approach to deliver exceptional account experience.
- Self-motivated and accountable with a strong desire to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow processes and systems effectively.
- A full driver’s license.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday
