Ready to design work that drives real change?
We’re looking for a talented mid-weight graphic designer to create visual stories that help purpose-driven brands make measurable impact across Australia.
About ImpactInstitute
ImpactInstitute is a B Corp certified, independent consultancy specialising in social impact advisory and brand communications. We run Australia’s largest disability expo program, My Future, My Choice, and partner with organisations across education, health, and community services committed to creating a fair and inclusive society. Our work ranges from strategic brand development to campaign execution and complex information design. As a small, collaborative team powered by curiosity and optimism, we’re punching above our weight—we’re winners of the 2024 Australian Business Award for Brand Management.
The Opportunity
You’ll work across the full spectrum of design—from print materials and promotional items to digital platforms, social media, and integrated marketing campaigns. Every day brings new challenges: translating complex information into clear, compelling visuals that help our clients connect with their communities and create genuine impact.
This role offers creative autonomy within established brand frameworks, the chance to work with diverse for-purpose organisations, and the opportunity to mentor our junior marketing and graphic design assistant. You’ll be part of an integrated team powered by curiosity, impact and optimism.
Who You Are
You’re a designer with 3-4+ years in agency or professional environments who thrives on variety and creative problem-solving. You enjoy working independently, managing multiple projects, and delivering work that requires minimal rework because you get the brief right the first time.
Skillset:
– Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience
– Strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
– Experience delivering print-ready and digital-ready files
– Comfortable working across websites, digital platforms, and social media formats
– Excellent written English and attention to detail
Mindset:
– Work independently with confidence and initiative
– Impeccable attention to detail, even under pressure
– Clear communicator who proactively manages workload and expectations
– Can-do attitude and genuine excitement about for-purpose work
– Taste—you know what makes good design great
– Collaborative team player who also thrives autonomously
Day-to-Day you’ll be:
– Managing multiple design projects from brief to delivery
– Collaborating with internal teams and clients to understand needs and deliver results
– Ensuring all work meets brand standards and deadlines
– Providing creative direction to external suppliers when needed
– Mentoring our junior marketing and graphic design assistant
– Translating complex information into accessible, compelling visual communication
Reporting & Team
You’ll report to our Head of Brand Storytelling and work as part of an integrated, collaborative team committed to creating communications that matter.
Benefits Include:
– Flexible work practices – work from home / remote work options
– Marilyn Day – birthday leave to celebrate your special milestone
– YOLO days – two leave days for last minute breaks when the mood strikes
– Curiosity Lab professional development program
– Opportunity to work with Australia’s leading for-purpose brands
– Creative variety across print, digital, and campaign work
