As our Technical Purchasing Specialist, you’ll manage end‑to‑end procurement of specialised aerospace components, raw materials, and outsourced manufacturing services. You’ll coordinate vendors, drive quality and lead‑time outcomes, and keep materials flowing through our MRP‑driven production environment. Your work will directly support the development of our hypersonic vehicles, designed to Fly Faster than anything before, where precision, quality, and speed are non-negotiable.

How You’ll Accelerate Our Program

  • Manage RFQs POs and invoice resolution.
  • Coordinate outsourced manufacturing projects, including vendor communication, lead‑time estimates, and performance tracking.
  • Forecast demand and adjust material flow using MRP tools.
  • Conduct quality inspections of incoming goods using metrology tools and 3D scanners, ensuring verification or correct documentation.
  • Build and maintain a strong supplier network to achieve quality, cost, and lead time targets.
  • Ensure vendors use the correct drawing revisions and up‑to‑date CAD data, through close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Partner with Production Planning to keep lead times accurate and current.
  • Support Quality with NCR generation and manage returns of non conforming goods.
  • Assist with inventory management and BOM kit assembly for vehicle production.

What you’ll bring (must-haves)

  • Circa 5 years’ experience) in technical procurement, ideally within engineering or manufacturing; Aerospace or Defence experience highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (MRPEasy, ION or Manufacturo preferred), including BOM, inventory, and PO management.
  • Strong capability to analyse and compare complex supplier quotes across varying lead times, tiers, and shipping costs.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, locally and globally.
  • Confident negotiator with a track record of securing delivery, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Ability to obtain any applicable security clearance or background checks.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.

It would be great if you also have (nice-to-haves)

  • Degree in a related field
  • Experience in forecasting, demand planning and lead time analysis.
  • Hands-on use of precision metrology equipment (Vernier callipers, micrometres, 3D scanners).
  • Ability to read 2D engineering drawings and understand basic GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, sheet metal fabrication, metal additive manufacturing, CMCs).
  • Familiarity with aerospace COTS hardware and components.
  • Understanding of export controls (DSGL, ITAR/EAR).
  • Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
