As a Product Development Analyst at Hutch, you’ll play a key role in shaping, improving and delivering innovative insurance products and technology solutions that create better experiences for our insurance brokers.
Responsibilities
This role sits at the intersection of insurance, technology and delivery. You’ll be part of new product initiatives, enhancements, integrations and automation projects while managing defects, testing and continuous improvements across our platforms.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised, solutions-focused professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem solving and understands how to balance technical delivery with commercial outcomes.
You’ll work closely with underwriting, operations, technology partners and external vendors to help transform the way insurance products are delivered.
Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you’ll be responsible for the management and
delivery of product development initiatives across Hutch’s insurance platforms and systems. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end delivery of new product development projects
- Leading product enhancements, automation initiatives and system improvements
- Coordinating integrations and platform migrations across broker and distribution systems
- Managing BAU incidents, defects and issue resolution processes
- Creating, prioritising and managing JIRA tickets and workflows
- Working within agile delivery methodologies including stand-ups, sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions
- Liaising with stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Preparing and executing test plans and test scenarios
- Supporting and performing hands-on testing across:
- Functional testing
- Non-functional testing
- Regression testing
- Production Verification Testing (PVT)
- Supporting test automation development and implementation
- Monitoring product performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensuring accurate documentation of requirements, testing outcomes and delivery updates
- Assisting with release planning, deployment coordination and post-implementation support
Qualifications & Experience
You’ve spent several years working in insurance product delivery, systems, technology or project environments and understand the operational side of insurance platforms and digital delivery.
You bring strong experience across:
- JIRA including ticket creation, issue tracking and agile ways of working
- Defect management and enhancement management
- New product delivery and implementation
- Insurance technology platforms including Ebix, SCTP and broker distribution systems
- Organising and executing UAT & PVT
- Project management across product delivery, integrations and automation initiatives
You are:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Analytical with strong problem-solving capability
- Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical teams
- Passionate about improving systems, processes and customer experiences
- Proactive, adaptable and delivery-focused
