Summary:

As an Actuarial Analyst, you’ll use your data expertise and Actuarial techniques to deliver insights and create actionable changes to optimise the underwriting portfolio.  

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in similar roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and manage data models and reporting dashboards to support business insights.  
  • Continuously monitor dashboards and core KPIs. Develop performance and pricing analyses, develop models and change proposals to identify opportunities and improvement. 
  • Apply advanced Actuarial pricing techniques such as GLMs, Machine Learning and Impact analysis. 
  • Write clean, well-documented code and manage deployment and staging environments.  
  • Collaborating with business functions and stakeholders to drive performance and efficiency improvements.

Software and skills:

  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent. 
  • Strong programming capability in SQL and Python.  
  • Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent. 
  • Exposure with cloud environments such as AWS, Marketplace. 
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex datasets. 
  • Core Actuarial pricing skills, analytical data interpretation and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into business outcomes.  

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years working in the insurance industry. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial, Data Science/Engineering, Statistics or equivalent. 
  • Hands on experience in managing and manipulating datasets.
