We are currently seeking a Residential Maintenance Worker to join our maintenance team to work across both our Franklin and Dover facilities.
What you’ll do:
As a Residential Maintenance Worker, you will be required to maintain Huon Regional Care equipment, properties, buildings and facilities.
Duties may include:
- Basic maintenance – minor non-trade repairs like fixing door handles, replacing lightbulbs, basic carpentry work.
- Moving furniture, mounting TV’s, painting and decorating, cleaning carpets
- Pathway safety – ensuring driveways and entry points are hazard-free
- Garden & lawn care – mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, and seasonal clean-ups
- External cleaning – windows, pathways, gutters (within safe reach), and waste management
- Resident interaction – working respectfully in clients’ homes, observing safety concerns, and encouraging participation where appropriate
- Safety & reporting – following WHS procedures, using tools safely, and maintaining accurate records
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to perform manual and physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, garden equipment, and minor repairs
- Friendly, respectful and trustworthy with strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your time well
- Understanding of workplace safety, WHS and infection control measures
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Valid driver’s licence
- National Police Check (within 3 months of employment)
Desirable (not essential):
Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community services
Technical skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work (non-licensed)
Training in horticulture or maintenance
