Looking for meaningful work that fits your life? Join the HEDSS Team as a permanent part-time Disability Support Worker (112 hours per 4-week roster)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients with personal care, daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.

We have 3 SIL homes in Black Hill, Thornton and Salamander Bay (opening soon Mayfield). We also provide Community Access.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions
  • Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • What we are looking for:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Complex Care experience an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting independence and wellbeing
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
  • Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
  • Must have NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC and complete NDIS Orientation Module.
  • A current First Aid & CPR certificate and a valid driver’s licence
  • Commitment to making this your primary roster.
