As we continue to grow, we are looking for an organised and
reliable Accounts & Payroll Officer to support the day-to-day financial
operations of the firm.
The Role
This is a hands-on and structured role responsible for
supporting the firm’s core accounts and payroll functions. Working closely with
leadership and external advisors, you will help ensure the smooth and accurate
management of financial records, payroll processes and general finance
administration across the business.
This position is ideal for someone with early experience in
accounts, bookkeeping or payroll who enjoys working with systems, processes and
detail, and is looking to continue developing their skills within a supportive
professional environment.
What You’ll Do
- Processing accounts payable and receivable
- Assisting with billing and invoice management for the firm
- Managing outstanding accounts and following up debts professionally with both
business and client accounts
- Processing payroll accurately and on time, including superannuation, leave tracking
and compliance requirements
- Maintaining and updating accurate financial records
- Bank and trust account reconciliations (training provided if required)
- Assisting with month-end reporting, audits and preparation of financial reports
- Generating reports for Partners and the wider business
- Responding
to employee payroll and finance-related queries
- Ensuring financial transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
- General finance and administrative support
About You
- Have at least 6–12 months’ experience in accounts, bookkeeping or payroll
- Have a basic understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes
- Are highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Enjoy working with systems, structure and process
- Communicate confidently and professionally, particularly regarding financial matters
and payments
- Take pride in meeting deadlines and producing accurate work
- Are proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll software
- Experience within a legal or professional services environment is highly regarded, but not essential
- A qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is advantageous, but not essential
- Hold valid Australian working rights
