Our Kids Team is currently looking for a part time (3days/week) Campus Children’s Oversight to join the team at our Sydney – Southwest location as a Maternity Cover for 14months.

This role will be responsible for the health, growth, and operational excellence of Hillsong Kids at the campus, through effective volunteer leadership, family engagement, compliance with Safe Church policies, and delivery of age appropriate discipleship programs

Other aspects of this role include:

VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Upskill, train and invest in all kids’ volunteers.
  • Setup leadership structures and provide ongoing support across each service.
  • Maintain weekly connection with key volunteers to support, coach, and develop them and facilitate consistent Volunteer Key Team meetings.
  • Support leaders with real‑time problem solving and escalate Pastoral Care matters as required.
  • Increase and develop health in all areas of Hillsong Kids ministry as evidenced by numbers of leaders; weekly attendance; the number of pastoral follow-up calls made.
  • Oversee the systems and structures across Hillsong Kids at your campus through Planning Centre (PCO) systems, including rostering and team management.
  • Oversee development of junior leadership program.
  • Support onboarding processes for new Kids volunteers with ongoing monitoring in alignment with safe church.
  • Maintain pastoral oversight of volunteers ensuring concerns raised from rooms or weekend services are escalated in alignment with Safe Church protocols.

MID-WEEK GATHERINGS & WEEKEND SERVICES

  • Responsible for ensuring the success of the Kids program at the campus, incl. equipping volunteers with curriculum, providing weekly communication on content, and supporting program delivery.
  • Increase health in all areas of Hillsong Kids ministry as evidenced by growth in KDG’s; weekly attendance; the number of pastoral follow-up calls made; and the connection of new families into Hillsong Kids.
  • Be visibly present and engaged at Sunday services, checking in with Service and Room Leaders.
  • Work with HSK leaders and HSK creative to provide programs across all age groups that are of an excellent standard including Parents room, Cubby House, Ark, Fun House, Voltage, and Treasure Chest.
  • Provide programs and support in all weekend and midweek services that are of an excellent standard and aligned with national curriculum.
  • Identify improvements required in the systems used for weekend services including safety and protection, program excellence and communication to and from leaders.
  • Ensure all programs and events under your leadership comply with all Safe Church policies and procedures, ensuring concerns are raised with appropriate staff follow up.

FAMILY CONNECTION

  • Increase health in family ministry as evidenced by growth in numbers of leaders; the number of pastoral follow-up calls made; and the connection of new families into Hillsong Kids.
  • Invest in Family Team leadership and contribute to effective family follow up strategies.
  • Ensuring families are engaged and connected within service communities; providing strategies for connection before and after gatherings.
  • Maintain pastoral oversight of volunteers and families, ensuring concerns raised from rooms or weekend services are escalated in alignment with Safe Church protocols.

GENERATIONS TEAM

  • Provide volunteer lists, roster support, and troubleshoot scheduling challenges in collaboration with the Generations Team.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and leaders across the Generations teams to develop pathways for young people and families to maintain connection to communities.
  • Contribute to generational discipleship across campus communities by collaborating with Kids, Youth, and Young Adults ministries.

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Theology, Education, or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • Proven experience in children’s ministry leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to pastorally care for and disciple young people, supporting their spiritual, emotional, and relational development.
  • Experience in leading and equipping volunteer teams, incl. training, mentoring, & team building.
  • Experience in relational ministry, incl. connecting with children, parents, and leaders in a school or church setting.
  • Strong understanding of the spiritual and developmental needs of children age 0-12.
  • Knowledge of leadership development principles, particularly within a ministry or church context.
  • Clear understanding of Christian discipleship models, culture, and how to communicate faith in relevant and age-appropriate ways.
