Summary:

The Rostering Officer plays a crucial role in the Social Care sector by ensuring the effective scheduling and allocation of staff to meet the needs of clients. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of care and service delivery for Quality Living and Support Services across our statewide footprint. The role is based in Townsville, Queensland. The successful candidate will work closely with care teams and management to optimise workforce utilisation and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Coordinate with care teams to understand staffing needs and client requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust rosters in response to changes in service demand or staff availability.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies regarding staffing.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding their schedules and any changes.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process of new staff as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff hours and attendance.
  • Provide reports and analysis on staffing patterns and trends to management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a rostering or scheduling role, preferably within the social care sector.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in rostering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
