Reporting to the State Manager QLD/NT, Mining Practice Leader – Australasia, the Market Manager will develop and market HDI Global SE to the insurance broking market and our corporate clients. The Market Manager will expand the relationship with independent and international broking houses which fit with the company appetite. The Market Manager will also drive the relationships with key brokers at state level and support key strategic partner relationships at a national level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clearly articulate the HDI Global SE story, philosophy and underwriting appetite to insurance brokers, existing clients and potential clients.
- Strengthen and develop specific strategic broker relationships as appropriate and agreed.
- Grow premium volume and market share on assigned broker panel.
- Foster strong tripartite relationship with clients and their brokers, noting that HDI Global SE adopts a tiered segmentation model, which includes a Key Account Management – Approximately 30 clients will be designated as “Key Accounts” (generally larger listed and privately owned companies.
- Assist clients and brokers generally in their navigation, dealings and with all aspects of HDI Global SE’s business.
- Identify and generate new business and cross sell opportunities for HDI Global SE across all lines of business.
- Be directly involved in the business development activities relating to multi-line targeting of accounts.
- Assist underwriting teams with deal finalisation of new business opportunities by being the conduit between the underwriting teams and the broker/client.
- Ongoing contribution and update to the target marketing database.
- Assist with maintaining the broker and client database.
- Be involved in the planning, organising and running of broker and client prospect events.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager with the co-ordination of a corporate marketing strategy in co-operation with the Line Managers.
- Attendance at appropriate industry conferences as appropriate.
- Consideration of marketing items for market distribution.
- Assist with the development of marketing material, internet presence, presentation documents etc.
- Participate in fortnightly underwriting meetings with all other Product managers to review renewals, new business opportunities, cross sell opportunities, general market conditions.
- Leverage data to develop strategy, prioritisation and growth initiatives.
Proven competencies:
- Minimum 5 years’ insurance industry experience.
- Strong understanding of corporate insurance markets, distribution models and stakeholder management.
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Accountability and performance focus.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
