Role Overview:
We are seeking a Hospitality Front of House / Barista to join our cafe and wine bar teams in Brendale.
You’ll be part of a team that values high
energy, strong product knowledge, and consistently exceptional customer
experiences across all venues.
We’re looking for someone who is confident,
engaging, and genuinely passionate about hospitality, with a natural ability to
connect with customers and deliver outstanding service wherever they are
working on any given day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally
- Provide menu recommendations and explain products
- Prepare coffee (espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, etc.) to standard recipes
- Steam and texture milk correctly
- Maintain consistency in drink quality and presentation
- Prepare other beverages (tea, iced drinks, smoothies)
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Process cash, EFTPOS, and contactless payments
- Balance tills and handle transactions accurately
- Keep the café, serving areas, and tables clean and tidy
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations
- Clean coffee machines, grinders, and equipment regularly
- Restock cups, lids, milk, and supplies
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Communicate effectively during busy periods
- Manage time effectively during peak hours
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages
- Refill display cabinets and fridges
- Help with opening and closing procedures
- Contribute to creating a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere for customers
across all sites
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Food Handling Certificate
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail bottle
shop, FOH service, café, or bar environment
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine focus on creating positive
customer experiences
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, outgoing, and
professional manner
- Well-presented, energetic, and approachable personality
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in busy, fast-paced environments
- Basic experience with POS systems and cash handling
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable with a strong work ethic
- Team-focused attitude with willingness to support across different
venues as needed
