The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Café Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy, high-volume café. Operating 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch service, this role extends beyond the café to include oversight of two food trucks and a staff lunch for our corporate team. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about hospitality. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the profitable day-to-day operations of the café, food trucks, and staff lunch lounge
  • Lead, motivate, train, and develop Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams
  • Manage staffing levels, rostering, and labour costs in line with business needs
  • Supervise staff performance and foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture
  • Ensure high standards of customer service, food quality, and presentation are consistently met
  • Greet customers, take orders, and process payments efficiently
  • Build strong customer relationships and personalise service where possible
  • Handle customer feedback, complaints, and resolutions professionally
  • Cultivate a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers
  • Prepare and serve high-quality beverages, including coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies
  • Support the introduction of new menu items, initiatives, and promotions
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through effective strategies
  • Manage functions, catering, and event execution
  • Drive sales and identify opportunities to improve revenue and operational efficiency
  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies, including social media and online presence
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, food hygiene, liquor, and fire regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards across all areas
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure equipment is maintained and serviced
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and train staff on this
  • Manage banking, cash handling, reconciliations, and variance investigations

About You

  • Proven experience as a Cafe Manager or in a simular hospitality leadership role
  • Strong understanding of both FOH and BOH operations
  • Experience managing high-volume service environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and inspire a team
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and P&L management
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster
